Louise Moorhead BSc (Hons) Psychology, PGDip Counselling & Communication Therapy and Patricia Phelan BSc (Hons) Psychology have been has been providing Equine Assisted Programmes for a number of years with great success. Each have been passionate about horses from a young age; between them have a lifetime of experience and a wealth of knowledge. Together they form the Eagala Therapy team. They have experience working with trauma, learning and physical disabilities, addiction, risk taking behaviours, aggression, emotional and behavioural problems, mental health issues, PTSD, self-harm, young parents and homelessness.
Over the past ten years they have been slowly developing the concept of using horses for learning and working towards gaining the relevant qualifications, accreditation, memberships and insurances to run programmes that will benefit members of their local community; this includes children, young people and adults. Both have experience running workshops for people with various disabilities that promote a sense of well-being and positivity, using the horse’s natural environment as a catalyst to promote lasting positive change.
All other staff members are fully trained qualified and highly experienced professionals.
